Jessica and Jonathan Imburgia

Jessica has completed her 500 hour training and is registered as an RYT 500. She has also completed the Spinal Intensive with Donna Farhi, 2 of Shiva Rae's Vinyasa Teacher Trainings and Beryl Bender Birch Adjustments and Modifications for Teachers workshop, YogaFit L1 Training and has attended Dean Learner's Iyengar Teacher Intensive. She is also completing a 2 year course in Sanskrit. As she has learned much from the certifications, she has learned more through her own practice, study and taking others classes. She has practiced yoga since she was 16 years old and because of her daily practice she advanced quickly. She began teaching at the age of 18 in 2001 and hasn't dreamed of doing anything else since then. It is her belief that while yoga, as with anything in life, is serious and requires focus and discipline, you must learn to be light-hearted and have fun with it.

In 2002, as her interest grew in alternative therapies she attended massage school. Focusing on the therapeutic aspects of massage she continued her studies in deep tissue, trigger point and aromatherapy. Jessica is also a level 2 Reiki practitioner.

Jonathan Imburgia
Jonathan Began his Tai Chi training in 1997. After taking his first class his passion and love grew for the beautiful, soft, and flowing movements of the traditional Wu style Tai Chi form. As he was learning the sublte movements of the Tai Chi form, he felt as if he was becoming more aware of how to move, let go, and listen to how his mind and body connected. At that moment he felt peaceful and alive flowing with his movements almost as if time stood still. This was a powerful experience that inspired him to practice more and develop his skills.

In 2001 he started teaching the Wu style Tai Chi and other forms of Qi Gong for health and martial arts defense. What interests him the most about teaching Tai Chi are the health benefits his students receive from regular practice. Seeing students recover from their health conditions and be able to live a happier more peaceful life is what his classes are focused on - bringing the body back to a balanced homeostasis, where you can enjoy the benefits of health and longevity through any stage of life.

In 1998, to further his understanding of alternative health he bacame a Registered Massage Therapist. After becoming a massage therapist he continued to study other forms of massage, such as Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Polarity Therapy. In 2000 he started his training in Cranio Sacral Therapy (CST) under the Upledger Institute, and since then has completed Advanced Craniosacral Therapy and Somato Emotional Release One and Two. In 2003 he attended the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado. In 2004 he graduated from the Rolf Institute and is now in private practice as a Certified Rolfer of Structural Integration. He has also taken various Rolfing movement trainings and is working on becoming a Certified Rolfing Movement Practitioner. To read more about Jonathan, please click here.,

Katharine Isbell
I love to travel. Through my studies of Spanish, I traveled to Spain and lived awhile in Colombia. After college, I began working with refugees and moved to Indonesia and later Thailand to continue this endeavor. While in Thailand, I embarked on what would become a life's journey: my yoga practice. I would like to thank my first teacher Elizabeth for helping me discover this path. I moved to Japan and continued to study yoga with Francesca, an Italian-Swiss acupuncturist, who introduced me to teachings of BKS Iyengar. Through her guidance, I began to develop a map for my yoga practice. I expanded my yoga boundaries with further studies in Japan and Indonesia. When I moved to Texas several years ago, I substitute taught for a teacher who one summer did not return. This teacher provided me with the courage to follow a new direction in my practice - that as guide to others. As I enter my third year of leading classes, I am thankful every day for this opportunity. A recent book consisting of 6 word memoirs inspired me to create my own: Nervous traveler still developing inner calm.

Katharine currently holds YogaFit LI certification and will begin working on her 200 RYT training this fall with Body Synergie.

Gina Mimlitch
Originally from Colorado but schooled at Texas Tech University (Lubbock, Texas), Gina is glad to call herself a Dallasite. Formerly weighting in at 198 pounds, Gina has found that exercise and nutrition are essential to staying fit and healthy. While losing weight, Gina became a victim of over-training, and even though she got results, she also had lots of aches and pains as well. "What good is being thin if everything hurts?" Then she decided to make a change and found her first yoga class at a community college. The teacher was was an Inyengar instructor who had trained in India, who could ask for more? He wasn't easy and was a stickler for correct form. What a wonderful experience - at first the yoga poses seemed odd, but after her first yoga class, Gina was hooked. She felt much better and was even more relaxed.

Gina has now been doing yoga for more than seven years and has trained with many astute instructors teaching many different forms of yoga; including Inyengar, Ashtanga and Hatha. As for formal training, Gina has her 200 hour RYT certification through Sampoorna Yoga and has had Levels 1 - 4 of Yoga Fit Training as well as YogaFit Seniors and YogaFit YogaButt. She also has her PiYo certification which combines pilates and yoga. Gina has completed Judith Lasater's Restorative Yoga Training and will soon be a certified Restorative Yoga Teacher.

Gina has been teaching yoga for about two years now and is always looking for something new to learn and to teach. She is interested in helping her students get to know their bodies and gain confidence in their abilities.
